The Duke Behavioral Health Center is a significant investment in a population that has long been overlooked. It's a step to more equitable care that prioritizes the whole person, and a step to reducing the stigma that comes with these illnesses.
The hospital addition is imagined as two ‘pavilions’ in the landscape, prioritizing patient views and access to the outdoors. The innovative program consolidates all Behavioral Health services for a streamlined, coordinated healing experience: Emergency (trauma) services, inpatient care and outpatient therapy.
