The Blue House is a small urban dwelling situated in a dense neighborhood within walking distance from the city center. The house was commissioned by a young family who wanted an affordable modern home that felt spacious and was custom made for them. Their building program was simple – open plan living spaces on the main level and a bedroom and loft (that could be reconfigured for a second bedroom) on the upper level. Privacy from the street and neighbors, having open, light-filled space and visually connecting to the small, South-facing garden space were all equally important to the owners.
