Location: Clemmons, NC

A studio for art that is cantilevered over a flood plain while nestled in a canopy of trees.  The southern end of the structure is grounded with cast-in-place concrete while the northern end touches the ground lightly with steel columns.  From within the volume one experiences the cadence of skylights running along the spine of the structure.  This leads to the “opening” at the end of the tube connecting the interior with the exterior.  The open linear plan maximizes flexibility for the variety of mediums employed by the artist.  .
