The NC DOT office buildings interact with the public and other state institutions. The division offices, spread throughout the state, are usually utilitarian buildings. These important offices for the DOT are a place for the employees and the public. The completed design provides a building that uses daylighting, site positioning and landscaping to enhance the employee and public experience. The deisgn uses familiar and common materials for eastern North Carolina. The design seeks to take adavantage of simple moves and a really strict budget to create a modern expression of the typical DOT office building.
