Architect: Michael Ross Kersting Architecture, P.A.
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
A house called Frame, located in Raleigh, has roots planted firmly in the post-WWII neighborhood of Country Club Hills. Classic modernist homes, many designed by faculty from the NCSU School of Design, have been recently replaced with oversized homes presenting questionable architectural integrity. This home is a contemporary response to the legacy of the neighborhood, designed to honor as well as evolve ideas reflected in the original modernist homes found in this beautiful neighborhood. By executing the program through interweaving interior and exterior elements using a concise structure, the home reveres the principles set forth by its predecessors.
