The first piece of a new corporate campus, Ferguson’s HQ3 completes the missing urban edge around Fountain Plaza at the heart of Newport News’ City Center and fosters connections to site and community.   Collaborating with the City, the team extended the design beyond the property-line creating new public plazas and greenspace. The elevated volumes of HQ3 create visual connections from interior social spaces to the Plaza and physical connections through the site, preserving public access to the Plaza after future buildings are completed.  Transparency and connectivity are emphasized within HQ3 as well, through open offices, collaboration spaces, and monumental stairs.
