The Raleigh Fire Station 22 is a 15,765 SF, 2-story station, providing three pass-through bays, each large enough to store a “Tiller” size Apparatus. The modern facility has the latest in hot zone/cold zone isolation design for station occupant safety which includes separated decontamination spaces with showers, isolated PPE cleaning and storage areas, and transition zones with isolated mechanical supply/exhaust system coordination. The project is targeting LEED Gold Certification fueled by a 16.72 kW rooftop photovoltaic system. Efficient design strategies and sustainable equipment and fixtures will help with 35% in energy savings and a 50% reduction in water usage.
