This new High School Classroom Building reinforces and enlarges an existing quad and completes a series of interior Commons Spaces on campus. Completed in two phases with an extremely tight budget ($220/sf) and limited site, the building defines the western side of the quad. The simple massing was modulated by brick patterning, corrugated metal accents, and a judicious use of glass. Phase One houses science labs, maker spaces, corridor and services, while Phase Two houses classrooms that form around a two-story commons space, reinforcing the expanded quad. Phase One was occupied during construction of Phase Two.
