Location: Charlotte, NC

1616 Center is a five-story mixed-use building that helped usher in a new wave of development in Charlotte’s Historic South End district. Ground level restaurant and retail spaces open to Camden Road, which has quickly become the main street of South End, complete with apartments, restaurants and walkability to the city’s light rail. The levels above offer more than 70,000 square feet of office space wrapped around a five-story parking deck. The goal of this project was to provide new “funky” office space to fit the character of the neighborhood along with retail spaces to activate the pedestrian experience.
