The Penland School of Crafts, located in the mountains of North Carolina, is one of the foremost craft schools in the US, with 400 acres and 51 buildings. The Northlight Building is the centerpiece of the campus, housing the studios for papermaking and photography as well as the social hall where most school gatherings and events occur. The front porch for the school is framed with expressive wood and metal details and overlooks the meadows and mountains beyond. The Northlight Building is expressive of the dedication to craft at the Penland School of Crafts.
