The Gregg Museum of Art and Design showcases NC State University’s rich collection of art and design objects, bringing together in one location the extensive Gregg Museum collection with the university’s 1928 Georgian style Chancellor’s Residence. The new museum includes a 16,700 sf addition to a fully renovated, 8,400 sf historic residence along with renovation of historic gardens. Inspired by patchwork-style quilting patterns represented within the museum’s collection, the design is conceived as a collection of interior and exterior galleries stitched together through spatial connections.
