This human-centered design provides comfort to patients and their caregivers on the sometimes uncertain path through cancer diagnosis and treatment. The design, guided by feedback from a patient advisory group as well as by healthcare providers, integrates opportunities for patient choice through infusion bays in a variety of settings from private to open. A “journey wall” based on an abstracted DNA sequence guides patients through the space, serving as a touchstone and leading to an “inspiration center” with resources for education and healing.
