Vidant Health (formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital) recognized the need to provide world-class pediatric care in eastern North Carolina. The phased construction of the new facility began with a 3-story building that houses administration and outpatient functions. The patient floors (floors 4 - 6) feature a 24-bed configuration with appropriate support space and family areas. One of the most significant components of the project was to develop new entry points for the new children’s and women’s facility, rehabilitation center, heart center and main hospital. Improved connectivity signage/wayfinding and traffic flow improve the patients experience while on campus.
