Form & Function Architecture
Location: Asheville, NC
Smokey Park Supper Club, an independently-owned restaurant, is located on the bank of the French Broad River. The building, being comprised of 19 shipping containers, pays homage to the rail yard and the industrial area surrounding it. This design is the largest adaptive reuse of its kind in the country. It features a 2,400 square foot wrap-around deck connecting the restaurant to the river. The deck provides outdoor dining, great views of the river, and space for live entertainment. In the future, the shipping container building also plans to house temporary farmers markets and artist spaces.
