Novus Architects

Enka Intermediate School is designed for a population of 850 5^th and 6^th grade students.  Elements of the design are drawn from the rich industrial history of the community while incorporating state-of-the-art technology and space flexibility to foster collaboration in a variety of teaching modalities throughout the day.  Throughout the building, students and teachers have access to small group break-out spaces, technology hubs, maker’s space, a performance stage, outdoor amphitheater, school garden and sports fields.  The facility celebrates sustainable concepts and energy efficiency through daylight harvesting, rainwater collection, high performance HVAC and LED lighting.
