Built in 1958 and considered one of the best mid-century modern houses in NC, the Carr House was sold to Mark Hansen and Mimi Lukens in 2012.  To recieve significant tax credits the house was registered on the National Historic Register.  All additions and renovations required approval both state and national. 

The addition was for 2 bedrooms, a 36 ' long linear office/studio cantilevered to the North and a bridge connecting old and new.. Extensive interior renovations were planned for the existing.  Of great importance was the marriage of the existing house and the addition.
