The design concept for the interior renovation of the Symantec Headquarters started with reimagining the organization’s existing corporate quad; a place less defined by buildings to one that is a ‘Center of Gravity’ for their community.

Although the ambitions of the exterior were delayed, the question became, can the quad and the interior workplace have a symbiotic relationship? Highlighting vertical tree houses, the exterior design manifests itself in the WELL Certified interior environment through a vertical “quad,” a programmed void carved from existing floor plates to create a place that is useful yet unexpected, coveted and meaningful, spirited and playful.
