Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
The Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Training Center is an urban infill project in the eclectic neighborhood called FreeMoreWest along the western fringe of uptown Charlotte. The neighborhood has enjoyed rapidly paced urban renewal driven largely by the beautiful adaptive reuse projects in the area. This project serves as the gateway structure for the Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Campus, where steel has been repurposed into to cast iron pipe since 1901. The facility operates as a training center for the industry, as well as a history museum dedicated to telling the story of this important company and their employees.
