Architect: Clark Nexsen
Location: Raleigh, NC
Description:
The Math + Statistics Building (SAS Hall) is at the center of urban reinvention on NC State University's North campus. Originally home to the university football stadium, the site was given over to parking after the athletics department moved away. Across the street, a loading dock faced the site, creating a vehicular zone in the heart of campus. SAS Hall not only fits tightly in among historic buildings, its L-shaped plan works with the renovated Park Shops building to create an urban plaza; reinforcing the pedestrian fabric in this part of campus.
