Description:
Parkwood Elementary School is a conglomerate of buildings constructed from the 1940s through the 1990s. Building A, the oldest of the buildings, is where most of the renovation dollars were budgeted. Initially, the client charged the design team with maintenance of an aging facility. Improvements included added insulation to the 1940’s exterior wall assembly as well as new ceilings and paint. As the project progressed, the scope for aesthetic improvements was expanded. With direction from the design team, the remaining funds were used to renovate the school’s main lobby.
